ABOUT

I am looking for a band to join and or work with creative and talented people. I graduated from Metro State University with a degree in Music Education (Instrumental Emphasis) but I work full time as a Director of Finance for a large non-profit organization. My main goal after graduating college was to apply all I learned and start my own original rock band. The name of the band was Kontraku and I kept that machine rolling for about seven years. We hit the Denver scene hard and through networking played with many of the top metal bands (Apathy was a band we had a very strong bond with). Our first gig was at a really sleazy bar in Lakewood and we played to tables and chairs watching the cockroaches crawl up the walls. The owner stiffed the band and gave us all two glasses of beer each for our time. Fast forward to the peak and we played a sold out show at the Gothic to a packed house and sold a tremendous amount of merchandise. This type of success doesn't happen overnight and doesn't come without a price. There were many difficult and challenging road blocks along the way and around every corner - a learning opportunity to absorb. In the midst of chaos a good band must maintain a proper balance of everything - and a band must do everything for itself. Writing music (stringing musical ideas together to create a song), Booking gigs, Marketing (flyers, posters, & banners), email chain lists, Supporting the local scene, Networking, Rehearsals, Artwork and on and on and on...This all takes endless support from your family and loved ones. So, why do we do it? Its all due to a live performance on a stage, and its your music, your ideas being expressed to an audience craving something different yet familiar. I love that rush of adrenaline before taking the stage and all the compliments after finishing a powerful set of your own music. Kontraku recorded one full length cd in the studio and I look forward to additional recording opportunities. Recently, I have collaborated with John Kuzma on an orchestral piece with drumset and pipe organ and we have performed it live in 2014 and 2015. John and I will be working on two additional orchestral/drumset pieces to accompany the Tarantella. The lower level of my house is where my studio is located. I want to collaborate with people and exchange ideas and create brilliant music. I have much to offer and bring to the table,7202086132
