I started playing in school band in 4th grade and moved on to drum set in grunge and punk bands in middle school, then rock/experimental in high school and college. I mainly play set, but I also have a a wide variety of hand percussion (conga, djembe, frame drums, doumbek etc...).

Influences
Neil Peart was my earliest inspiration. I later diversified to include a range of jazz, prog, and metal drummers. On hand drums, I listen to a lot of traditional and fusion music from South Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America.
