My name is Dani, and I am a 24 y/o female vocalist and guitar player searching for a band to play gigs in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area. I have a full time day job and am interested in a casual group to practice/play on nights and weekends, but I am willing to step up the commitment level based on the needs of the band. I am also willing to put in the work making connections and setting up gigs, and can guarantee a following of friends and family for all of our shows. I have a versatile voice and am comfortable harmonizing, my guitar skills are pretty decent but I would want to play rhythm rather than lead as it definitely takes away from my vocals to focus on the guitar as well. I have not gigged in several years now and am looking to get back into playing music because I miss it so much and drunken karaoke just doesn’t quite cut it. I used to play pretty frequently as a solo acoustic act (although I have played with bands occasionally as well) at bars and coffee shops when I was in high school and college at Georgia Southern University. I prefer the energy of a full band to the calmer vibe I have experienced playing alone in the past. I also have a background in choir, musical theater, and led music worship at my church for several years. I can read tabs, chords, and sheet music. My taste in music is extremely diverse, I listen to everything from metal and punk rock to country and classical, though I tend to play mostly southern rock, alternative, country, and some popular songs. I also play almost exclusively cover songs. Although I have dabbled in songwriting, I only have one original song that I have felt comfortable enough with to play out at a gig. I am definitely interested in collaborating on more original music. Lyric writing is my strong suit and the actual music composition is where I struggle, which is one of the reasons why I would like to work with other musicians rather than as a solo act. My house is available as a practice space if needed. I will be posting videos soon, but please feel free to reach out with any song requests and I will be happy to record them.
