I am a songwriter and music producer seeking vocalists for recording projects in the genre of alternative rock.
***Not looking to start a band, or looking for vocalist for a working band, this is strictly "make for hire" studio recording 3 song projects. These recording projects will IN NO WAY infringe on your regular gig, and the level of commitment is extremely low.
EX. Last recording we met twice prior, once to show the artist the song, the second time to record a scratch track to give to my studio drummer. Then we hit the studio twice, once to record all the main and backup vocals, once more for corrections, buzzers and whistles. A grand total of maybe 8 hrs. I say this because I'm tired of hearing the excuse, "I just don't have the time." If you are a passionate artist, no matter what your schedule, you will make the time. That's the kind of artist I want to work with.
All credits earned will be reflected. Meaning if you helped me to arrange the music you will get musical arrangement credits, but one little lick over the rhythm I created does not constitute the right to make an sell copies of my song. It's odd that I would have to say this, but it's been an issue in the past.
The reason I am including details about copyrights is because I am pitching these songs to a major record label in LA that signs primarily female artists.
Vocalist I am seeking must:
*Be able to hold a note, have good pitch
*Be honest and forthright
*Have a professional attitude
*Be able to take direction, as well as have input/ voice opinions
*Be able to commit to recording 3 songs, 2 photos, 1 video
Input is always welcome. I feed off of an artist's vibe and influences, and trust in their abilities. I am not "my way or the highway," but with that being said, if it doesn't sound right to me, I'll let you know. So a strong backbone and an open mind is crucial.
I love to mix genres, so if you think "my country vocals won't work over this hard rock song," you're wrong. My most prized recordings combined a full range pop vocal with goth hard rock.
