Dave and The Ideas

Band to Join.

I've been playing electric and acoustic guitar for over 15 years. I'm currently 25 years old, went to UGA and played in multiple bands in Athens. Played shows in bars, venues (including the 40 Watt), parties, and whatever else you can name. I grew up learning to improvise blues and rock, so I have a great working knowledge of music theory and have great ear to pick up keys and know what scales/notes to play and when they should be played.

Dave and The Ideas formed in 2018 by David Holtzer after having the realization that music can’t be categorized into a single genre. The formation of sub-genres and sub-sub-genres merely shows that musicians and artists alike have that same collective thought. They can’t (and most likely won’t) categorize themselves into a particular genre or type, so they create their own. This laid the foundation for Dave and The Ideas.

The group consists of David (Dave) and other musicians, friends, computers, and family members who want to contribute to the project in some form or fashion. This ranges from singing, creating artwork, and even to sending an email of some noise that someone had recorded at some point in time to be used in some recording. That’s the “Idea”. Everyone contributes ideas of their own, creating a music type unknown.

Is Dave and The Ideas just another genre of music that hasn’t been named yet? Who knows. It’s open to interpretation, so use your own ideas.
