Hi, I'm Dave Janes and I became available as my band the Refranes broke up for various reasons (primarily the pregnancy of our lead singer and the uncertainty of her return) I've played in numerous bands for the last 30 years: The Urge, Mad Leroy, Leadfoot Johnny, Hogwild, The Cait Janes Band, Retrovention and the Refranes. We'd been together for 5 years playing venues around the Cincinnati area such as MVP's, Jerzee's, Silverton Cafe, McLevy's Pub, Latitudes, Arlin's, Dunker's, KJs, Riverside Marina, Public House, Pirate's Den, Pirate's Cove, The Show (formerly Win Place Or Show), Putter's, Lebanon's 3rd Friday Festival, Goettafest, St Johns Festivals, St Margaret Marys Festivals, Nativity Festival, Crescent Springs Festivals, corporate events and weddings and we opened for the band, America at the Festival at Sycamore a couple summers ago. Since the break up, I've been playing in a hard rock band (Priest, AC/DC, Van Halen, Ozzie) but I've been doing this long enough to realize that in order the play the higher paying venues, festivals and corporate events, you have to perform a familiar, mostly danceable, consumer friendly variety of music that everyone can relate to. I'm well aware you have to bring it to get the audience engaged and involved in what's happening on stage. I'm looking for a band that is all about giving the audience what they want.
