9 years of general music education in elementary, high school, and college, but I got into guitar in my 40's. In learning guitar, I have become a huge fan of the Grateful Dead, and learned a ton about playing my guitar by learning their music. I would love to put together something small and casual that's mostly acoustic (say, acoustic guitar or two, bass, simple drums) and covers a range of songs from the Dead or other classic rock / jam style bands. I'm not an amazing player by any stretch, but I can definitely hold my own on general acoustic rhythm & chords, some finger picking and hybrid playing.
