SEEKING
Band to Join.ABOUT
Experienced bass player (bass guitar and synth bass) looking to step into a working band with gigs and connections. I've played alternative, rock, pop, jazz, etc. I'm near pro level in skill, with solid rhythm and groove. I love to lock in with a good drummer. I'm a fast learner, well versed in music theory and a strong reader as well (if you have charts or scores). I can also sing backup vocals. A recently retired engineer, my schedule for rehearsals and gigs is very flexible. I've got pro equipment and I can produce a wide variety of bass sounds for just about any kind of popular music. I'm very reliable--when I commit, I'm there. Alt contact: put a dot between my first & last names at ya hoo, or msg at 6 0 2 3 2 0 2 6 5 1.

Influences
80's new wave and synth pop, 90's & 2000's grunge & alternative, and even the great stuff coming out now. I am not stuck in the past and I have never stopped listening to new bands and new music. I'm as much into the new stuff happening right now as I was in the 70's. If I had to name a single favorite bass player, it would be John Taylor. If you want to do Duran Duran, Talking Heads, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Collective Soul, Incubus, NIN, Beck, Twenty-one Pilots, Imagine Dragons, Garbage, Katy Perry or even Dua Lipa--I'm all over it. I'm not much into blues or country, but I've been known to compromise for a song or two. ;-)
