ABOUT

Music has always been the one bright star in the sky that I set my course to. The driving force that keeps me going. As long as I know it's there, I can't be lost.

I have been playing bass for over thirty years, all of my adult life and then some. I've had my share of successes. I've played several hundred shows. Opened for some of my musical heroes. I've toured some. Gone to Europe. I recorded several albums. At times, music has been very good to me. I've also known my share of failure. Made more than my share of mistakes. I've had large parts of my personal life crumble around me because I was too busy chasing the music that roared from my bass. I've been in more bands than I've got fingers. Bands rarely end good, cause if things are going good, they don't end.

I believe the most important things in life is to live and think for yourself. How can you lay any claim to sentience if you're just following the lead of others? Choose your own path, write your own destiny. At the end of the night, you are the only one who has to live with the consequences of your decisions. If I end up alone, surrounded by nothing but failure, at least I lived by my rules. I write my music for me. If you also like it, great. If not, no skin off my back. I don't live for the approval of others.

EQUIPMENT

Does it matter? Fancy instruments don't make you a better musician. In the end they're just tools to help you coax the sounds out of your head. I've got several newer and vintage basses, just about enough basses to make any sound that I want. Fender, Rickenbacker, and Peavey. The same with amps.
