Band to Join.ABOUT
Hello all! I played drums for a long time, and even in bands, when I was a kid. I don't play them much anymore but I kept an old, beat up, set in my basement for years. About 6 months ago my son started taking guitar lessons and I got hooked. Now I can't put the thing down. I absolutley love playing guitar. I'd just be looking to play in a relaxed band again. I could only do rhythm right now. But I love doing it. I've found the palm muted chugging in a percussion mannor to be a total blast. I'm not looking to, nor do I have any delusions of, touring the world but I'd love to have a little fun playing in a band again only this time as a guitarist. I have practice space in my house and money for equipment. Much more than I can say for the last time I did this!!

Influences
Kiss, first and foremost! If you're my age and you didn't love Kiss when you were a kid there's just something wrong with ya!
I guess on a more "serious" side I love Mike Patton's work with Faith No More and Mr Bungle. Love it!!!! I love Dimebag Darrell and Pantera! I think Korn absolutley rocks. I still love anything Van Halen did prior to Sammy. As I've learned to play guitar I've really enjoyed playing Metallica songs. They rule! I also love Slash and GnR or Velvet Revolver. Playing anything by AC DC is always fun too! But I also like playing fun pop cover songs like Swing Swing and Good Riddence. When I was a drummer nothing ever beat Rush!
EQUIPMENT
Right now I just have a mex Strat, a few pedals, cry baby, and a small Fender Frontman 15G amp. Soon I'll probably buy a Jackson RR V with Seymour Duncan pickups. No whammy! I don't want to have to worry about replacing the rusted out ones from all my sweaty palms! lol! And a Krank Rev Jr Full Stack. Or maybe, just maybe, a JCM 800 Marshall Head on a 1/2 4x12 stack. Just in case.....
As far as my pedals go, I have a Metal Zone (Boss MT-2), Super Overdrive (Boss SD-1) that I am having a great time trying to model a true tube sound with! I also have a Digital Delay (Boss DD-3) to add some fun and the old orange Distortion (Boss DS-1) for old school sake!
Down the road, as I fine tune my sound, I don't know if I want an American Strat or a Gibson Les Paul Standard but either of the two would be nice!
