ABOUT

I've been playing gigs since 1973. Went to music school where I studied music theory, counterpoint, composition & arranging, graduated, went to another college to continue my interest in audio recording and media production, earned a BA there. I wrote and produced jingles for a few years, made use of the first Mac computers to sequence MIDI sources SMPTE locked to analog multitrack tape. Won a national award for a Red Cross PSA campaign. All this time, played gigs, singing and playing drums, soul music and blues and funk and country and jazz. Worked around the Seattle area in the 90's in groups led by some semi-legendary regional Northwest bandleaders, as well as some my own groups. Kept on recording and writing and producing my own stuff. Played with or warmed up for Nationally-known artists like Paul Butterfield, Charlie Musselwhite, Lonnie Mack, Ramsey Lewis. I love jazz fusiony drummers, jazzy blues and soul singers, ironic evocative songwriters; that's what I'm made of. Call Dave at 512-820-7539.
