Started playing guitar when I was 9 but mostly self-taught and took a lot of very long breaks. Grew up singing. Recently started jamming with a friend of mine who plays banjo and looking for more folks to join in the fun - particularly a fiddle player and an alto (June Carter Cash type) I can harmonize with. We may have a mandolin player soon. Listen to "Boxcar" by Cary Ann Hearst & Michael Trent (or just about anything off their album "Shovels & Rope") for an idea of the feel. Also looking at a broad array of other songs and artists we could cover - everything from Hank Sr classics to "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" by Neutral Milk Hotel (the Avett Brothers version).
