ABOUT

Looking to join an established band that's got gigs booked or pending (no start-up's or "jammers only"; no "full-time bands, as we probably all do, or should have some kind of a "life" outside of our music), who play at least two to three weekends (and the infrequent Thursday night gig) a month. Prefer playing with older, like-minded musicians who "get it" when playing cover tunes- who play these songs exactly (latitude given for solos, and key changes to accommodate vocals) or very closely based on the original arrangements. I don't care much for "patchworking"(taking elements from different versions of the same song), and If your band subscribes to a "THIS is how we do it" mentality (which at first blush, gives me reason to believe that you can't be bothered with "details") or insists on reinventing the wheel with "avant garde" arrangements, or any kind of cutting corners that result in songs that wind up sounding weak, watered-down, lame/lazy, and underachieving, then thanks for your interest, and you may look elsewhere. I'm very passionate about what I play, and refuse to sell out; in other words, I give a s**t. Despite my inability to read music/charts, I do have an excellent ear, I'm more than willing to learn; and have no problem with practice at least twice a week (which includes giving up a weekend afternoon). I don't play funk, punk, country, reggae/ska, jazz/fusionl; I also don't do drugs, and am a light drinker; am highly reliable, responsible, and come prepared and ON TIME.

Also play 6- and 12-string acoustic guitars, and am a "pocket"-type drummer (no solos; just a backbeat with applicable "accents."
