Band to Join, Vocalist, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums.

I have a B.A. Degree in Humanities/Fine Arts with areas of concentration in music, art, and English. My parents were both music teachers, so you could say music is in my DNA! My dad taught me violin when I learned to walk. I took piano lessons for a summer as a youngster at UTEP. But I am mostly self-taught on keyboards, listening to Ray Charles and plunking around on my mom's Steinway grand piano, or playing around on the upright in either of their music classrooms. I studied cello in El Paso, Texas, then at Interlochen summer music camp in Michigan, and then at a music school in Germany. (Schweinfurt Musikschule). While living in El Paso, I also sang with the El Paso Boys' Choir. (My mother was the assistant choir director.) I taught myself guitar in high school back in the '80's. I've played keyboards and guitar with soul, top-40, blues, rock, and heavy metal bands. I'm looking to put together a classic rock band focusing on hits of the 70's, 80's, and 90's to gig locally.

Original Songs:

Note: All of my songs are copyrighted and I am a member of ASCAP.

My song "Hot Touch" showcases my guitar playing and song-writing skills. It's a pretty straight forward blues-based rock song with a key change in the guitar solo to change things up a bit. The recording is in the "heavy metal" style, though my current style is more "rock" than "heavy metal" as I'm toning down the distortion. My 1986 demo of this song won an honorable mention award from the 1987 TDK/Billboard Songwriters' Contest. Eddie Van Halen was one of the judges! (You can see a photo of the award in the photos section.) I'm looking for a guitarist that can play the rhythm guitar part, which is basically just bar chords.

"Lifeblood - Impaler" is a graphic novel of the mind. Based loosely on the Dracula myth of "Vlad, the Iimpaler," it recounts the rise, fall, and redemption of an underdog character "Alden, the Impaler," and his partner, "Vulcan Drakul," a dragon who had been hibernating in wait of a prophesied fallen hero who would call upon him to serve mankind and the greater good. The song's hard-driving and has some great harmonizing guitars.

"Once and Future King" is based upon the Arthurian novel of the same name by T. H. White. It's another hard-driving song with some great 2- and 3-part guitar harmonies! I consider this to be my "Magnum Opus."

I wrote "Flame of Love" directly after 9/11. It captures my feeling at the time and is a tribute to the fallen. It can be modified and/or arranged as a soft-rock ballad.
