ABOUT

Hey, I'm Chris and I'm a 'modern' metal drummer. Genres include Metalcore, Deathcore, Technical Metal, Death Metal & Progressive Metal. Looking to form or join a band in Chicago or the Northern suburbs along these lines. Not able to play a lot of complex time signatures/changes or high speeds - just interested in uptempo songs using a lot of blast beats and double kick, very little "slow parts," i.e. no long ambient/jazz parts, and songs that clock in at under 6 minutes. As far as influences... (see below) they are the direction I would like to go although I am not quite at that level or speed, yet. Still, could make some really entertaining music while improving. I love a ton of bands, from Between the Buried and Me, who got a little soft for my taste in recent years, to Archspire, who are way faster than I would be able to play. Carnifex really became one of my favorite bands because they fall somewhere in between the 2 ends of metal, with "catchy", heavy songs with great blast beats, break downs, low guttoral vocals, very few clean parts, and songs that are not overly long. I aspire to be in a band that would be similar to that... perhaps with a slightly more progressive sound.
