ABOUT

I'm interested in meeting musicians who live on the South Side of Chicago and are interested in strengthening the South Side's original songwriters music scene.

I'm a songwriter-singer and guitarist who relies heavily on soul, funk, and improvisational jam-band sensibilities to create music. My taste for music is wide ranging and I've been in a few groups/bands. I started off as an MC fronting a live band. For years I dabbled in beat-making, eventually picked up the guitar and starting writing music that I now sing and perform.

I'm self-taught and enjoy playing with musicians (formally trained or not) whose approaches to music spans multiple genres. I take inspiration from mostly the Black American music traditions of the past, and work to create songs that resonate for now and into the future...
