Hello, my name is Dena Ford and Im a musician from Austin Texas I come from a musical family (father western swing old country bass player and step dad fiddle player) started out doing rock, country, pop-show band/weddings. however after relocating to east coast Florida I had to switch gears from texas steveie ray Vaughn type music, country to jazz. I pride myself as being a utility musician who works well with others blending into whatever situation that is presented to me. At times I have had people call me at last minute to replace singers and just had to show up pulling rabbit out of hat. I am not a diva self absorbed narcissistic woman. I want people to respect my music not my looks and costumes. Being in male dominated industry and starting out from 1980s I know all about the politics of the industry. Im not just a pretty face but a very seasoned musician who has worked hard to BAND TOGETHER with people who are serious about making beautiful music. I don't respect musicians who just want to show up and make their money. most jazz musicians have a tendency to have this type of mentality. anyhow I am a very serious musician and all my life I have made my living in the music industry. I have excellent references with talent agencies I can give upon request. I drove here to visit a elderly friend 87 years old to help her and thinking I may relocate. The PA area is beautiful and since I am a widow ( daughter in London grown up) I can basically relocate any where in the world. I don't have my pa system with me or guitar because it was suppose to be just a visit however I can rent pa or buy a guitar, mic etc. This Saturday August 8th my elderly friend has invited me to her grand daughters graduation. nice home, pool outside very nice party for 23 year old doctor. I was asked to sing and play guitar so id like to hire two musicians or making combo band to play. I will pay out of my own pocket for the band present to graduate from myself. 75.00 dollars plus tips. lead piano or guitar, drums and bass. or no drums. lots of people lots of tips.
