ABOUT

My name is Derrick, and I'm primarily a bassist. I also practice the drums, guitar, and keyboard. I'd like to get a group of like minded people together and write some tunes. I do enjoy theory, but Im not going to belittle for not knowing it themselves. I have a drummer, we get together once or twice a week currently. Every Sunday. I'm eclectic in my taste. I have all time favorites like Coheed and Cambria, Lamb of God, James Brown, Mos Def, Sublime, and Modest Mouse. I also like trash metal (megadeth, Slayer, Overkill), djent (Scale the Summit,CHON, Animals as Leaders), a little death metal (Slayer, Opeth, Morbid) Angel), jazz (Coltrane, Bill Evans, Ron Howard, Miles Davis, Sophie Milman) old school hip hop and rap, post rock (Russian Circles, Don Caballero, Redneck Manifesto, Giraffes?GIRAFFES!). The list is endless but I like to explore music with an open mind. The music uploaded from is very old. Give it a listen if you like though. Sorry for the quality of these tracks, they are several years old and not very good showcases. It is the sound I hear in myself though, be it unrefined.
