Influences

THe Beatles - first and foremost as well as the rest of the British Invasion...then Motown, Stax, etc. . 60's / 70'spop from the Beach Boys thru the Four Seasons,Turtles, Grass Roots, Paul Revere, Spoonful, Tommy James. so many hard to list, Buckinhams, Outsiders, ande on and on,then the epiphany: i was playing a blues gig and I heard this climbing organ and then a deep bass riff followed by fuzz guitar doing the identical riff - In A Gadda Da Vida! Iron Butterfly it flipped a switch...Cream followed Deep Purple, but the Group which combined my love of soul with my newlove of hard rock was the American Band - Grand Funk Railroad! ...now if you only know GFR from American Band onwards with the Locomotion, Some Kind of Wonderful and Bad Time or Sally as your sole rferences - You do NOT know GFR. Listen to Grand Funk Live 1970 Please do yourself a favor it is the finest raw reperesentation of a no BS full of sweat and high energy har rock concert I ever heard no effects, no lasers, no lights no pryrotechnics - NO BULLSHIT! Later I found horn bands and fell in love from early CTA/Chicago, BS&T, Cold Blood with Lidia Pense, Tower of POWER! Ides of March some of the EWF tunes...THat is wher4 I am today... Songs from the mid 60's thru mid 80's featuring Horns...
