Band to Join, Drums, Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Vocalist.ABOUT
Eclectic bass player with experience in southern rock, alternative and blues/reggae music. I have all my own equipment and it is well-maintained. Currently looking for a fun group of people to jam with and book some gigs for summer 2019. My goal is to PLAY OUT! (That’s where the fun is) but I know it’s a lot of work. I am very reliable, on time, and practice regularly. Would want to practice at least 1x a week to put together a solid set and perform at local venues/parties. Again, my goal is to play out, not sit around and jam and drink beer. I prefer musicians who come prepared and practice at home before coming to rehearsals.
I’m all about 3 things: Tone, Taste, and Timing. Ideally would be interested in a groove-based dub/reggae band, but open to any jamming in the southern rock genre (Allmans, Drive By Truckers, etc.) To that end I need a solid drummer and vocalist.
Recently I played as a full-in bass player for local original band Sonora (indie/alternative). Came on board with two weeks of practice and performed 8 live gigs at smaller venues (Mag Bar, Gravely, Best Friend Bar, etc.) over summer 2018. Prior to that I have played a supporting role as bass player in other local bands (original and cover) In college I played for Red Shag Bula (Allman Bros. tribute/southern rock) and we played Dutch’s, Maiers, Gerstles, Headliners, local and regional festivals, etc. I have played cover music in weddings as well.
I am able to read music on the bass clef and have a decent foundation in music theory. I can sing backup but I would say by vocal skills are Intermediate. I do have a powered monitor and mic/mic stand for gigs where additional vocals are needed.
