Hello,
My name is Devon and I am an intermediate guitar player. I live in Bloomington, IN which is about an hour outside of Indianapolis. I am currently looking to expand my abilities and gain experience playing with other musicians. I would love to jam with new people and I am looking to eventually create a band with a group of like-minded and dedicated musicians. I love a broad range of music but I most experienced in the realm of rock and metal. J-pop and J-Rock are my favorite genres to listen to and I am hoping to incorporate these influences into my own music. I also speak Japanese so if you are interested in Japanese music or anime music then I think we will be great friends! I am currently expanding my skill set to include more popular sub-genres such as math-rock, dreampop and jazz.
My current abilities allow me to write basic chord progressions, solo over chord changes. and analyze basic music theory concepts. I have minor experience playing live. I have played a couple shows with my old band at the Hoosier Dome and I have participated as a solo performer at a few open mics around Indianapolis. Due to this I have experience setting up my own gear live. Becoming a better guitar player is a fundamental part of my desire to play with others, so if you are also looking to grow as a musician, why not grow together?
I am very passionate about meeting new people and trying new things. I work for a Japanese company and as a result I I am deeply connected with the Japanese community in Indiana. If you are interested in Japanese culture, I can certainly introduce you to a diverse and great group of people!
