ABOUT

Hey everyone,

My name is Carl Mueller. I'm 23 years old and I've been playing the electric bass for about 10 years (7 of which have been relatively serious). I've played in a couple of bands over the years and have had a few gigs here and there but nothing serious.

I am looking to join or create a fairly serious group dedicated to our music, be it originals or covers. Down to eventually gig. Mostly I just want to enjoy myself so I am looking for a group of nearly any size that is relatively dedicated and looking to have fun playing some great tunes.

Unfortunately I have this thing called a job from 8-5 M-F but I have evenings and weekends free.

Down for try outs, jam sessions, and anything in between.

Influences

My influences are very broad and I am fairly open to a lot of styles. I would say funk/blues comes in as my favorite genre, followed reggae (although I am extremely baised towards Aston "Family Man" Barret), then jazz and many types of rock.

I could list bands/artists for days but to give a sample of my tastes heres some of my favorites:

Herbie Hancock
Mile Davis
James Brown
Lots of motown artists (James Jamerson was the man!)
Bob Marley and the Wailers
Led Zeppelin
The Band
Allman Brothers Band
The Beatles
Radiohead
RHCP
etc.,

Some of my favorite bassists: Victor Wooten, Aston "Family Man" Barret, Jaco Pastorius, James Jamerson, Stanley Clarke, Larry Graham, Bootsy Collins, Flea, Paul McCartney, John Paul Jones.

Enough of these lists. Let me know if you're interested!
