SEEKINGBand to Join.
I moved to Chester from Fairfax last February. I've been playing drums for nearly 20 years in six successful Northern VA classic rock bands, routinely performing in DC, Virginia, and Maryland. I just left my most recent NOVA band, Riptide. The more than two-hour commute each way back to Northern Virginia for weekly rehearsals, not to mention travelling back and forth 3-4 times a month for gigs all over the DC/MC/VA area, just became too problematic and would become even more so in the winter months.
So, I'm searching for a Richmond-area band in need of a drummer. Nearly all of my 20 years in gigging bands has been with Classic/Southern Rock. I know a lot of songs from the '50s to today. I've also done private study with Steve Smith of Journey/Vital Information, Tommy Igoe, and am an alumnus of Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp where I got the opportunity to jam and perform with many of my rock heroes.
I don't do drugs and rarely drink. I am in my mid-'60s and would fit in best with other musicians close to my age.
I went into the studio with a couple of the bands I belonged to to record demo CDs. I have included copies of those recordings here. I'm retired, so, aside from continuing to unpack boxes from my move, I have plenty of time to rehearse and gig.
If you're seeking a skilled, knowledgeable, dedicated musician who comes prepared to each practice and gig, I'm your guy. I hope to hear from you!

I have a Roland TD-12 electronic that I can leave at the band's practice location and a TD-35KV that I use for gigging in smaller venues where controlling volume is essential. I also have two acoustic DW Collector Series kits that I use in larger and outdoor venues. I use a DW rack system when gigging with my acoustic kit and play Paiste Signature Series cymbals.
