I am from Chicago and living in the Columbia SC area currently. I am looking for a serious heavy metal or progressive metal or nu metal band with material in need of a singer. I am 35 years old and I have been a lead singer and guitar player in the past for a nu metal band and I have been on stage many many times in my life, played at the riviera in Chicago once , Couple of my bandmates actually toured with sevendust in other bands, ex guitar player plays with flaw apparently occaisionally as a rent a guitarist, old drummer is a semi famous d.j and producer now. My band opened for disturbed several times. Currently my favorite bands tend to be in the gent vain though I fu*king hate that term, like the term progressive metal better, groups like Tesseract, Periphery, Flaw, DVSR, Fire from the gods, Slayer. Megadeth, Pantera, Volumes, monuments, and too many others to name I am a big fan of. I always wanted to front a band like this without being stuck behind a guitar as I think I am a pretty good guitar player though not as technical when singing and playing at once.I could do a way better job singing without being limited by what i can play and sing at the same time. I tend to like bands that go from heavy to melodic and arent nesessarily screaming all the damned time though theres alot of bands i like that do. Its been a while since ive let out a gutteral metal ass scream and i will have to get used to that again but I have a great singing voice and back in the day when my voice was well exercised I could let out a serious ass scream. Once the adrenaline gets pumping and the music is live Itll probably pour out of me like falling off a log. I am also a great lyricist, very articulate pen to paper, I have also been an electronic music producer for many years and know my way around a studio. I can thrash on the drums for about ten minutes till i about pass out. I guess what im saying is that I am someone who wants to get serious about music again as im the kind of person who gets into trouble if i do not have a positive outlet in life, I consider myself multifaceted musically and I am used to working with musicians and am all about the vibe and I can get my point across in many ways, drums, singing, guitars, drums and computers. I am not interested in cover bands, I think if you can cover tunes well you should be able to write your own. Preferrably I would like to find a band that has material and come and work with you on your stuff and write new. When i get in that zone with the right people it can be a beautifull thing and i feel like music and i have some unfinished business. Being in a great band has always been my dream and I would like to find a commited group of guys to work with who eat , sleep and breathe this. I think image is just as important as the music itself and id like to find a band who has both to front and do it properly. Anyhow hit me up and lets do it.
