Dylan James Brock has been writing music and lyrics for about ten years now. His lyrics are as studied as his background would suggest: Mr. Brock has an MFA in Creative Writing and has worked with such award winning authors as Peter Carey and Salman Rushdie. His music comes from years and years of teaching himself when no one else would. Don't worry. It's better than that might make him sound. He doesn't deserve the comparisons to Elliot Smith and Daniel Johnston but he gets them anyway. From his first show for a packed house at the Halfass in Ann Arbor to his crowded sessions at CBGBs just before it closed, he entertains. Currently Mr. Brock is surviving the mean streets of East Nashville, working on getting his first novel published and mulling over the second novel and a screenplay.
