Gil grew up on the east coast listening to and playing guitar to Motown and classic rock. He played for many inner-city bands at outdoor events, festivals & charities.

Gil moved to the west coast to advance his music career and has played extensively throughout the region, performing in various venues and recording sessions. His experience includes a wide range of genres, with his preferred styles being rhythm and blues, soul, funk, blues rock, and classic rock.

From 2007-2009, Gil toured with Kate Russell, Australian Corporate Country & Blues Rock Artist. He did an east coast radio tour with her as a duo and a west coast full-band tour, from San Diego to San Francisco and beyond, showcasing two albums performing at dinner clubs, in-house bookstore events, and county fairs throughout California.

From 2009-2012, Gil performed with Don Duncan of New Orleans as a member of the house band in the main lounge of the St. Regis Resort, Monarch Beach, Dana Point, CA.

In addition to his work performing at the Monterey Blue Festival, Gil has performed leading support roles and as the opening act for top blues, rock, and classic rock recording artists. Some of the notable acts he has opened for include: Missing Persons, Berlin, Blue Oyster Cult, Great White, Robin Trower, Asia, Pat Benatar, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Dave Mason, and more.
