I am a straight white male living in greater Boston. I open with the previous statement because I want to work with a more diverse range of musicians and backgrounds, and unfortunately all my previous band-mates thus far have been other straight white males.
There are so many other perspectives of the world that I do not know and I feel that punk music is about learning and sharing, it is for those reasons that I am actively seeking to work with individuals who have a different background, whether it's gender/gender identity, race, or sexual orientation.
I am still very open to working with individuals similar to myself, but I would like to have a diverse band composition.
I would love to work with a female vocalist. I have a mid range male voice, very suited to punk, I can be rough and yelly (like a Tomas from Strike Anywhere or Joe from Smoke or Fire) and I can also sing a bit more smoothly. I could fill the role of lead singer or backup singer, though I prefer backup.
I can play guitar. acoustic guitar or electric bass, though I prefer electric bass.
I don't care what sort of band the band becomes, it could be more folky/acoustic (like against me or sundowner) or it could be a full on punk band (see the list)- the only thing that is important to me is that the band has a punk attitude and some diversity.
