ABOUT

I am an accomplished musician with undergraduate and graduate degrees in Music Education. Most recently I was trombonist for the Indie Rock Band, The Tiny Tin Hearts. I am a current member of The Austin Symphonic Band. I have also done free lance recording for local Austin bands. In college I was studio musician for Word records and principal trombone for the Irving Symphony. I completed a masters degree from The University of North Texas and undergraduate degree from Dallas Baptist University. I was a band director in the Duncanville ISD for nine years.

I am looking for a project and am open to the genre including latin, rock, jazz, ska R&B and classical. I am also available for studio work or as sub for your band.

Influences

I listen to a lot of contemporary artists and that is eclectic.I really love local Austin bands such as T-Bird and The Breaks and Balck Joe Lewis and The Honey Bears. I love the local Austin latin bands such as Grupo Fantasma, El Tule and Salero.

Being a trombonist I love the New Orleans band Bonerama.

In rock I am influenced by rock trombonist such as James Pankow of Chicago or and Dave Bargeron of Blood Sweat and Tears. In jazz I love big bands such as Dave Holland Big Band, Bob Florence,Stan Kenton and Pat Metheny.

I love the old Mowtown sound with their use of horns
