ABOUT

My name is Donna-Lee DePrille and I am a long time front person for many successful rock/pop bands in the Western Mass/ Northern Connecticut area. I was the front in SYREN, SASS, and Le HOTT. I also sing with a swing band, The O-Tones, and was the hand percussionist/ back up vocal for THE DIAMOND COLLECTION for five years. We are presently a working five piece cover band, THE DONNA-LEE DEPRILLE BAND. We do anything from Melissa Etheridge, Brandi Carlile, Pat Benatar, Blondie, Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt, Janis Joplin, Journey, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Heart, Duffy, Jefferson Airplane, Lady Gaga....... You name it, we can do it ! We are drums, bass, keyboard/synth, lead guitar/vocal and my self on lead vocals, percussion and alto, tenor and baritone sax. We are all professionals with decades of experience. There are no huge egos, and everyone wants to play out as much as we can. We are presently doing the Western Mass club scene, but would like to do fairs, shows, theaters, private functions and weddings. We strive to have a diverse set list that grows with the band. We want to have fun and make some money too. i am also presently starting my first CD, so that is also a future possibility.

Artist Bio

DONNA-LEE DEPRILLE - LEAD and BACKUP VOCALS, HAND PERCUSSION,ALTO,TENOR and BARITONE SAXOPHONE
Hailed as one of the best vocalists in New England, Donna-Lee DePrille has been a fan favorite since the eighties. She has appeared with some of the area's best cover bands, singing everything from Janis Joplin to Ave Maria. She also composes and performs her own original songs.
In January, 1982, she began a four year musical partnership with the members of SASS, a powerful six piece cover band that kept dancers moving all night long. In January 1986, Donna-Lee joined the touring band Le Hott. A regional favorite, they packed 'em in from Maine to New York.
From December 1986 until October 2001, Donna-Lee was the lead vocalist in the highly successful rock band SYREN. They were a seven piece rock/dance band and played thousands of gigs throughout New England. She sang, danced, played percussion and alto saxophone on a variety of rock, pop soul, and blues. In addition to playing with SYREN, Donna-Lee joined The O-Tones,a popular Swing/Motown dance band. She still appears with The O-Tones, playing hand percussion and singing close three- part harmony.
After 15 years with Syren, Donna-Lee became the principal backing vocalist and hand percussionist for the popular Neil Diamond tribute band The Diamond Collection.

In October of 2009, Donna-Lee DePrille appeared Foxwoods as a contestant on the Emmy award winning Community Auditions! On the strength of that appearance, she was asked to participate in the 2009 Finals of Community Auditions. She appeared Saturday, December 6, 2009 at The MGM GRAND THEATRE FOXWOODS.
On January 10, 2010, Donna-Lee appeared as a celebrity performer and judge at The Hard Rock Cafe Boston on Debra Crosby's Quest for Talent Television Show with Mamadou. She has since appeared three times at The Hard Rock Cafe in Boston.
Donna-Lee is presently at work on her first CD of original material.

DON AVEZZIE- DRUMS AND ALL THINGS PERCUSSION
The Engine behind the band is drummer extraordinaire Don Avezzie. He has been Donna-Lee's Drummer for 30 years and is still the bast around. He has also found time to be in many other bands in the New England area. A short list of bands Don has propelled includes " Charisma, Thunderbolt, SASS, SYREN, The Diamond Collection, Soloturn, Strange Brew, Betr Without and of course, THE DONNA-LEE DEPRILLE BAND."

RON CUMMINGS- BASS
A native of New York City, Ron has played many styles of music and is an accomplished professional. Ron has appeared with Strange Brew, Soloturn, Betr Without and The Donna-Lee DePrille Band.

TONY SMIGIEL -KEYBOARDS/SYNTH/VOCALS

Tony is a talented, longtime New England musician who plays guitar, bass and keyboards and synth. He has appeared with local favorites " The Threat, One Way, Gratitude, Millenium, Baby Morrison, Jovi and The Diamond Collection.

DAVE BOUDAH -LEAD AND RHYTHM GUITAR, VOCALS
Dave started playing guitar at the age of nine in local halls. He went on to play with numerous high school rock bands in the late 70's. He attended Berklee College of Music for one year, before going on the road with noted Bassist Mike Manring.

After touring the country for awhile, Dave returned to Connecticut to play in various bands. Two of the noteable bands he appeared with are: Street Temperature and The Shaboo All- Stars. Dave also worked with Guitar Shredder, Tony MacAlpine. He has studied with guitarist John Scofield. Dave left the music business in the eighties to work, attend school and raise a family.

Dave has a Masters Degree in Computer Science from RPI and presently works at Hartford Steam Boiler. He has three children and has been married for 27 years. He enjoys motorcycle riding. He got back into the music biz in 2009 with the band 2012. Dave began playing with The Donna-Lee DePrille Band in April of 2011.
