Upright bass.

A well dressed (Blazer & Bow Tie or Tuxedo), happy fella who will arrive early; flexible, courteous, a good communicator, willing to MC your event if requested, willing to stay later than contracted, connects well with your guests, and someone to whom you will gladly give an enthusiastic review when all is done. If requested I will send you a list of all my 25 online reviews, 24 are FIVE STARS!

I play solo piano to add a touch of class to your party, corporate function, or wedding reception. I play Classic Standards, Show Tunes, and Modern Jazz. I can play MELLOW: (Misty, Over the Rainbow, Summertime, Send in the Clowns, Angel Eyes, Amazing Grace, Stars Fell on Alabama, Rainy Days and Mondays, Moon River, All the Things You Are, When Sunny Gets Blue, Ella & Sinatra songs, etc.) or LIVELY and UPBEAT (Lady is a Tramp, Watermelon Man, Satin Doll, Teach Me Tonight, Moanin',There Will Never Be Another You, and Modern Jazz Blues). I often receive compliments on the warmth of my chord-voicings and my obvious passion for the music. If you reside within 20 miles of Hillsboro Village, I will AUDITION for you at no charge. Request a full playlist and a quote today!

I am retired from senior administrative positions in educational and arts institutions in the North and Canada, followed by a management consulting career. I cannot learn to read music as my ears have "a much faster processor" than my eyes, so, much as I adore it, I cannot play classical pieces (although I did perform for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Ask me about that!) I started playing professionally in a Coffee House (remember them?) while a student at Brown University and have played in restaurants, lounges, and many private parties since that time. I no longer bill myself as a singer, but will gladly attempt a few tunes if requested.
