I've been playing guitar on and off for about 20 years; it's been in spurts, and almost exclusively for fun. I have played in garage-bands, but never anything live. I have a very wide range of music tastes, and enjoy learning new songs I hear on the radio.
I've not played with other musicians in quite a long time, and I'd like to get back to forming a band and playing covers - or originals if inspiration strikes.
I would classify myself as a "rhythm guitarist", but am capable of leads/solos for a lot of things. I'm not a virtuoso by any means - I play because I enjoy it, not to be the next Satriani or Vai. I like to sing and play mostly (and mostly because I play alone), but in a band I'd not want to do anything but some backup vocals.
My goal this year is to start playing gigs.
Also would be interested in something like an Alice In Chains cover band. ;)
