ABOUT

I am trying to form an indie/alternative band near the Lafayette area. The goal is to create a working band focused on playing songs we like, with the hope we will attract an audience who enjoys seeing acts that are off the beaten path. I want to do excellent covers of great music that one does not typically hear on a night out in the Midwest.

The band's core is probably indie rock but anything goes really, as long as we genuinely like the song. So, Pavement followed by Judas Priest followed by Sufjan Stevens followed by The Psychedelic Furs followed by Bananarama followed by American Football followed by Hawkwind? Sure, why not? If we like it - genuinely like it - we will play it. I DO NOT want to contort ourselves to try to become what we think people will dance to; I want us to play from our gut and attract the audience that vibes with that.

Originals can be a big part of the mix too. I would love to write some great music together and play it out. The explicit goal is not to "make it" and chase a record contract and everything that goes with that. I just want us to play music that we love for people who love the music we play. Whatever success follows from that is welcomed but it isn't the band's goal.
