Show Band, The TSU Toronadoes
are Atlantic and Stax recording Artist. Among their credits include the mega hit of the late 60's, "Tighten-up" performed my Archie Bell and the Drells all of Houston, Texas. The TSU Toronados formed at Texas Southern University in 1966 where they all attended college with the exception of Micheal (Peter) Newman (Washington High School) Bassist of the group and Robert (Koosh) Sanders (Prairie View A&M University) on B3 Hammon Organ and Grand Piano. The name of the group, (The TSU Toronados), was decided on at a practice session helded in the basement of
Lanier Hall For Men, where most of the members lived on campus.
