ABOUT

Music has been an integral part of Don Lister’s life since early childhood. His mother and father were both musicians and introduced him to the drums at age seven. He quickly mastered the instrument and began playing in school functions from elementary school through high school.
That love for playing the drums & Beatlemania took him down a long and winding road that included playing for many different rock groups in the early to late ’60s. Don recorded his first record in 1966, and both sides became regional hits back in the Midwest. He has recorded with many different rock and Christian rock bands over the years, playing drums and other percussion instruments as well as providing backup vocals.
Don lost his faith and beliefs after serving in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971. Upon his return to the States, he met the love of his life Keverne in 1972. They have been married for 45 years. Keverne slowly brought Don back to the church and he slowly gained his faith and beliefs back Don has played in Praise Team bands for over 30 years. He still does some rock & roll shows and is currently playing with the rock group “Bonecracker”.
Don started writing Contemporary Christian Rock songs in 2012. Don plays exclusively on Pearl and Ludwig percussion drums, Yamaha and Alesis electronic drums, and will only strike Meinl, Sabian and Zildjian cymbals. He owns more drum sets than most music stores carry as "in-stock" inventory.
Born and raised in Marion, Ohio, Don now lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Don feels blessed to be able to provide the word of God through his music ministries. He is doing what God called him to do. He feels through music, many people find it easier to hear God’s words and connect with him in the best possible way.
Likes: Playing with talented musicians, golf, fly-fishing, and cruises.
Dislikes: Negative people.
