Band to Join, Vocalist, Lead Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Keyboard, Piano.ABOUT
Drummer switching to Rhythm guitar looking to join an original Progressive/Classic Rock band with some covers thrown in. I’m even open to joining a Classic Rock cover band or tribute band.
I also play keyboards, bass, and can do back up vocals. I can write music as well as lyrics and have originals and ideas to bring to the table when the time comes. I play drums too but looking to step away from them in my next project. Should've chosen a different profile name. lol.
The sound I'm going for... Melodic and groove oriented music that doesn't follow the rules. Constantly pushing the envelope to write fresh, unpredictable, moving tunes. Most importantly not having any two songs that sound the same if possible.
Think Beatles meets King's X, Zappa, Tool, Pink Floyd, Yes, Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath. Something along those lines.
Experience level... I've been playing guitar, bass, and piano for over 20 years but haven't played in a functioning band yet under that capacity. Drum-wise I've been playing for over 30 years and most of my musical experience is on drums.
If possible, I’d like to be in a band with other multi-instrumentalists so we can switch instruments occasionally. Some of my originals were written on different instruments so I’d like to perform my originals on the instrument I wrote them on.
I'm not expecting to become a rock star out of this, but would like to get into a situation that has potential to create some great music and eventually play some paying gigs.

EQUIPMENT
Guitar-wise: I have an Ovation deep bowl acoustic and several electric guitars and a bass.
My amp is a Line6 Spider IV 150 watt stereo combo. I also have a Carvin 4x12 that I run the Line 6 through. It's plenty loud and can cut through the hardest hitting drummers.
My keyboard is decent but due for an upgrade soon. It sounds pretty good and gets the job done for now. I will upgrade if the situation calls for it.
I have recording gear as well including a Tascam 2488 and a Reaper DAW on laptop.
