ABOUT

I am interested in forming a band comprised of diverse members representing different faiths, gender and race. To use music as a way to bring diversity together with the universal language of rhythm and melody. Our music would be a blend of our unique experiences and influences, creating something unique for people to experience.

Currently in the acoustic duo Daring Detour with Kathi Dvorin.

Acoustic Folk/Rock, Americana with a touch of Country and a splash of Jazz.
Interested in adding another vocalist/instrumentalist that would fit with our personalities and mission.

I have been playing guitar for 4 decades and focus on the tonal aspect of the guitar and playing what fits the situation best for each song. My strength is composing and arranging songs both original and by other writers.
I've produced 4 records, including my own instrumental album.

Influences

In general I like to listen to and play music from and/or influenced by early '70's jazz/rock fusion instrumental and/or progressive rock.
A sample of favorites include: Jean-Luc Ponty, Traffic, Santana, Pat Metheny, Pink Floyd, and Allman Brothers.

Acoustic influences include: Joni Mitchell, Jim Croce, James Taylor, Harry Chapin, and Bruce Cockburn.

EQUIPMENT

PRS Studio electric guitar played through Rivera Venus 6 all tube amp. I use minimal signal processing: light compression and wah.

For acoustic, I have a Guild F40 six string and an Yairi 12-string acoustic.

In addition, I have a Logic Pro X recording setup in my house.
