SurElectroPop is Eduardo Soto´s ¨ED¨ individual project, impregnated by diverse influences that go from Depeche Mode, Gustavo Cerati, Portishead, Ruben Blades, Tito Puente, among others, and gathers diverse music styles like electronic, rock, Cuban son, trip hop, and some other variations that fill of extraordinary tones, this genuine production.
Eduardo Soto is Mochuelo´s drummer and producer. Mochuelo was the winner band at Festival Nuevas Bandas in 2005, and they have recorded three musical productions in studio and one life DVD. His compositions have reached the first positions of the Venezuelan Record Report. His first disc ¨Mochuelo¨ was released in 2006 by the company Space Music Records, and it includes the song ¨Me Desenfocas¨ which was twelve weeks in a row as number one on the Pop&Rock board.
In 2009 a second record production is launched under the name ¨Un Tanto Mas¨ and it got to the first places of the Venezuelan Record Report with the song ¨La Reina del Lugar¨ In this production we can also find the theme ¨No Te Detengas¨ which was part of the soundtrack of the Venezuelan movie ¨Las Caras del Diablo¨
In 2010 is released the DVD Mochuelo Tour, which is a compilation of some great life presentations in different states of Venezuela. In 2014 Mochuelo presents to the public the album called ¨Casi Muerta¨ a piece that was produced and recorded completely in Eduardo Soto´s studio, with songs that contain a kind of dark atmosphere.
This talented musician, producer and composer has shared stage with national and international high level artists, such as: Guaco, Malanga, Johnny Sigal, Vinilo Versus, Maroon 5, and Duran Duran.
Nowadays, ED is preparing an album which is totally composed and produced by him, with the assistance of Alejandro Yanez ¨Vanitto¨ in the co-production of it. It also counts with the participation of invited musicians from Venezuela and some other countries, such as: Marianne Mali, Beto Caribe, David Rojas, Daniel Salvatore, Vanitto, Josue Flores, Hector Alvarado, Alcides Goncalves, and Douglas Leon. This record will be available to the public in a digital format by September of the current year.
