ABOUT

We are Caracella. We have some original songs with Cara, our female vocalist. We are looking for a second acoustic guitar to assist with backing guitars (which we have written already for our existing songs) and are very open to other opinions as far as writing future songs. We are also in need of a bass player. Again, we have some bass written but do need someone who can assist with some existing songs as well as future songs. Lastly we need a drummer. We don't play anything that is super technical but a drummer with a little creativity is a plus (i.e. unique fills or tasty transitions to assist the music). We are based between Rahway N.J. and West Caldwell N.J. We understand people have jobs and lives outside of music and are open to working around each others schedules. As long as you show you are an able musician and can come to practice, or at least work on music on your free time and hold your weight, that is absolutely fine with us. Once we have these desired necessities for the band, we are looking to do occasional shows, maybe once a month to get our feet wet. We DO play shows that we get paid for, and HAVE NOT had to sell tickets for these shows. This is definitely a plus because we know it is a pain to spam your friends and family trying to sell tickets or pay covers.

Influences

We play a wide variety of styles and we also do some covers for the shows that we get paid for just to keep the crowd interested. When we play songs that people get nostalgic about, it keeps the crowd involved. Anyway we play lighter acoustics, as well as some rock. Some influences are Foo Fighters, Jefferson Airplane, Adele, Joan Jet, and many others.

Cara is our vocalist with a very sweet, yet powerful when necessary voice. She is very friendly and brings even more joy to the band than simply writing music. I am Ed, the guitarist. I have been playing guitar for almost 15 years. I started with a heavier rock style and also play in a heavy metal band, but I decided to expand my horizons and try the lighter side of music. I enjoy writing dueling melodies/harmonies and would enjoy writing with other members who can bring out more to the music than my and Cara's own abilities. Again we are a democracy and are open to trying everyone's ideas for the better of the music.

EQUIPMENT

Cara has a microphone for playing live. I have 2 amplifiers for my guitars for playing live and at practice. I typically play an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar, both tuned to standard E tuning. For a few covers, i need a capo to raise the tuning. We need a drummer who has drums and a bass player who has a bass. If the guitarist needs to use one of my amps I am willing to share as well, however owning your own gear is definitely a plus. I also only have 1 acoustic guitar so the guitarist would need one of his/her own.
