The bass player might have influences including but not limited to: Steve Harris, Stu Hamm, Billy Sheehan. You've got to know a lot of tunes so you'll have a large pool of licks and ideas to contribute to new songs.
The Drummer might get off on Mike Portnoy, Steve Smith, Dean Castranova etc... You'll have grooves as well as the ability to sycopate tight rythm lines with the guitar and bass.
