ABOUT

More than 20 years of drumming and Spanish cajón experience. I started at an early age, like most of us, surrounded by music. Happy to say that I come from a very musical family tradition where all my parents, grandparents, uncles and cousins play a musical instrument and/or sing.

During my teenage years, when I started taking formal music lessons, I gravitated towards Classic Rock, Alternative, Grunge, and Progressive music. During college I experimented with Modern Jazz, and the sounds of classic Singer Songwriters such as Sting, Phil Collins, and Peter Gabriel.

I have been deeply involved in recording and performing music since college. Recorded and produced demos and EPs with colleagues, and mentored new musicians in the business aspect of Music.

i recently moved to Florida and I am looking for experienced musicians. I am available for recording sessions, cover bands (preferably NO 80s hair bands), original music, solo artists, acoustic music, Flamenco, and some Latin Music (not because of preference, but mostly because of honesty. While I can play many Latin styles convincingly, I am not a full-time Latin percussionist.) Able to play with click tracks and backing tracks.

I'm your guy if you're looking for a serious and honest player. Only paid gigs, unless I completely fall in love with the project and it merits and investment in time and efforts (this is one of the honest bits). I will walk out on musicians and bands who are not serious about their craft, insist on the use of drugs and/or alcohol while performing/rehearsing, or are not professional in their efforts (another honesty bit. There's time for fun- we are in this, in part, to have fun- but it becomes a problem when "fun" becomes a career obstacle.)

After 20 years in this business, and dealing with all kinds of people (players, promoters, managers, and the general public) I have developed a thick skin and low tolerance for BS. Overall, I'm a great guy to work with. I get along great with my colleagues. I will always show up on time, well rehearsed, committed and ready to perform. I expect the same.
