Nominated Best Rock Bassist 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 Buffalo, NY Nightlife Music Awards. Winner 95YNF Radio (Tampa Bay, Fl area) - Best Alternative Rock Bassist 1988, 1989, 1990. Currently with the re-united Western New York award winning rock group, Red Rain.
Originally a keyboard player switched to playing bass as primary instrument in 1980. Early influences were The Beatles, Cheap Trick, Kiss, David Bowie and Roxy Music.
Earliest playing experience was with high school band Crystal Mist, along with Buffalo Music Hall of famer Dan Macaluso (Mac James) of the Beez/White Lies and world renown drummer Mike Terranna of The Michael Schenker Group. Continued with other local bands through the 80’s in the Buffalo, NY area with long time bandmate and future Red Rain keyboardist Steve Gasiecki. Recorded a two song demo with alternative band Under Plastic at Select Sound Studios to be submitted for a “Best of WNY Rock Music” CD.
In 1987, moved to Clearwater Florida and recorded a two song 45 with The Automatix at Clear Track Recording Studios in Clearwater, FL. Recorded the video for the featured track, “Angels in My Pocket” at Full Sail Productions in Orlando, FL. The video went into regular rotation on MTV’s Basement Tapes late night TV program. Played regularly in the Orlando - St. Petersburg - Tampa Bay area. The Automatix enjoyed opening for the British group The Catherine Wheel led by Rob Dickinson cousin of Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson at the Masquerade in Tampa, FL.
Returned to the WNY area to play in the alternative group Factory Black again with Steve Gasiecki.
When the New Country movement became popular in the early 90’s joined award winning country vocalist Yvonne Nelson and Hungry Heart. Highlights included opening for The Sweethearts Of The Rodeo featuring Janis Gill at Langford Down Home Country Weekend.
Moved on to recruiting Robert Raithel , again with Gasiecki on keyboards, lead vocalist Diane Kallay and Michael Trig Lehmann to form the first incarnation of Red Rain. After 3 years of playing numerous gigs in the WNY area Red Rain also garnered the Best New Country Band award at the 1995 Buffalo Country Music Awards. Simultaneously played and recorded a four song demo with the alternative band Mulva with band mates Gasiecki and Lehmann. After the disbanding of Red Rain, played regularly with Mulva which later became Da’Loris. Recorded the album, “Evolution” with Da’Loris in Buffalo, NY at Robbie Takac’s (Goo Goo Dolls) Chameleon West Studios. Album was produced by Michael Hunt who had worked with the Goo Goo Dolls. Videos along with singles for the Da’Loris tunes “Dry” and Divine Rite” were used on Chameleon West’s “2004 Music is Art Volume 1” album.
After a 10-year music hiatus reconnected in 2017 with Robert Raithel and Michael Trig Lemann to reform Red Rain to perform a onetime reunion at the DHU Strand Theater in 2018 with the original members. Moving forward in 2018, a new version of Red Rain was formed with vocalist Vicky DeVoe playing Progressive, Alternative and Classic Rock.
