I am a 47 year old singer/songwriter in the Detroit area who is looking for someone to help me flesh out my songs and possibly form a band. I was the lead singer in a Detroit-based band called Gnosis in the mid 90s. My music is quirky and trascends genre, but if I have to pigeon-hole it, I would classify it as contemplative, ironic, dark but playful, and sometimes even poppy. I am a singer/songwriter primarily, but I also play some guitar, bass, and even bagpipes. Having said that, I am not great at any one of these instruments and so I really need the help of more competent musicians to back me up and help me to extend my limited musical vocabulary.

Influences
My influences vary widely from the psychedelia of the Beatles and the Doors to early Gothic like Bauhaus, Joy Division, and Dead Can Dance, early electronica like Raymond Scott, and even 20s and 30s jazz. My favorite current band is probably Radiohead, and I also like a lot of current alternative like MGMT, Missio, Interpol, Editors, and Cage the Elephant.
