Enso Anima is the mountain you pass every day on your commute and have always dreamed of climbing. Enso Anima is when you learn to appreciate whatever you are doing in the moment just as much as escaping from it. Enso Anima is the kiss with a little bit of bite, the shovelful of earth thrown onto a grave or a newly planted tree. Enso Anima is the secret you keep in a part of yourself so deep you cannot even make sense of it, the cross that you bear that gives you strength because it lets you know you have the right to live.
Enso Anima is the sound you hear between your ears when no one else is around. Enso Anima is the house at the end of the dead end street with flaking shutters and knobbly clumps of weeds in the yard and a giant hole in the roof and an even bigger, entirely inexplicable allure. Enso Anima is flipping the fu*k out in your best friend’s room to some album you two share, some little slice of heaven that is not quite the same unless it is shared thus. Enso Anima is digging your fingernails deep into your cheekbones and becoming intoxicated by the smell. Enso Anima is getting drunk and climbing a tree in a lighting storm, just to feel death breathing down your neck. Enso Anima is watching the world end and having a hand to hold. Enso Anima is watching someone cry and knowing you’re going to love them forever and a day. Enso Anima is three guys writing and playing music and loving it ferociously. We’re looking for a lead singer who feels the same.

a moment in a hero's journey: leaving the bonds that held them far behind, and realizing the price of freedom is relinquishing the false ethos they developed in captivity... devoid of any sense of self or purpose, anguished and wavering on the brink of despair, the hero seeks refuge in their deepest dreams, those that had been denied to them by a life of subsistence and servitude... and, with resolve set by the hints of truth they have glimpsed, continues anew upon their path, knowing their real journey has just begun... (lyrics are for vocals yet to be written... will YOU be the one to write them?) lyrics seeing death at the end of life… like seeing the horizon at the end of the ocean close my eyes and watch it grow the only sound… the turning of the masses drowned in a mirror, deathless and lithe waiting for coffins, helpless, alive! …signals break the surface, but a much larger process is in progress… …I wait anxiously for its arrival. “arms folded, watches his cumbrous world eclipse inane worlds of wind and cloud” as the mind works to recreate what the senses have inscribed, there’s a translation error, and only a fraction of truth is exhumed. for what, is made this fated ride? for whom, do these hands starve and clench? to be small in the face of true majesty, yet stand tall in the midst of honest fear. a battle older than the sun. a simple choice, but the battle’s never won. in strangulative certainty, I’ve become no more than a clever forgery. my faith begins to crumble… is there value in my patience? these eyes ain’t opposed to blue skies, but I’ll allot my time for a thousand hours to dream of sleep at night. the beauty of wonder in a wanderlust soul, searching for a way to feel real… to be desolate and shine at the same time. crimson giants gather at last light, awestruck at an ancient feeling that illuminates the sky from just above the horizon. the hawk spreads its wings, ready to fly into the night. faith in one’s plans only truly tested with the blackest horizon ahead credits released November 10, 2017 drums/percussion - Nick Creary-Scher lead guitar - Shane Ward rhythm guitar - Whitney Schuster composition by Enso Anima lyrics by Enso Anima and George Aziz, except "arms folded..." lines, taken from the poem The Sculptor by Sylvia Plath tracked in one live take, and mixed by American River College's Audio Recording class in September and October of 2017 mastered by Nick Creary-Scher in November 2017

inundation not a process, just cold reality the final touches on a seamless expression and he’s ready to face the flood her warm breath is sulfur to his eyes her sweet tongue, a brutal lash to his spine so he keeps his heart locked away on the mountainside a heart made of fire living inside a shell of stone these splinters have stuck in my throat… (god, let me live today let me breathe these splinters have stuck in my throat) “where are those words you left behind?” so he left some words up high on a mountainside and told himself “if it happens, I’ll be ready” (if there’s lightning, I’ll be ready for the storm) the branches bent to hear his thoughts and withered in dismay so he keeps his heart locked away on the mountainside a heart made of fire living inside a shell of stone and the branches knew he would never be coming home (god, let me live today let me breathe these splinters have stuck in my throat) “how long will you fall how long, dreaming that you can fly?” so, testing the air, he cries “it’s a blind faith, a cruel waste one bitter taste so I know I need this sweet sensation” a heart made of ashes carried away by the wind as his words fade… drums/percussion/backup vocals - Nick Creary-Scher lead guitar/backup vocals - Shane Ward bass guitar/backup vocals - Justyn Trella rhythm guitar/lead and backup vocals - Whitney Schuster composed by Enso Anima lyrics by Enso Anima, except "it's a blind faith..." lines borrowed from Blind Faith by Chase & Status tracked, mixed and mastered by Jamie Staffa at The Loft Recording Studios in Bronxville, NY in 2014.
