My name is Eric Contractor and I am looking to connect with other musicians for a vocal based, indie-electronica act. I am a NYC-based classically trained musician and singer, with a dramatic vocal style (James Blake, Roy Orbison, Chris Isaak), looking to case my singing within a beat-driven, theatrical, ambient, trip-hop, electronica context. I am primarily looking for a drummer/percussionist and a bass guitarist. In terms of percussion, I am particularly looking for someone who can play drums (electronic or acoustic) as well as program beats/percussion with a drum sampling machine. Backing vocals and synth abilities are a plus. My inspirations for this act include James Blake, Lana Del Rey, Zola Jesus to name just a few. As a musician, I am dedicated, hardworking, experienced, passionate, yet sensible. I am seeking similar qualities in others. I have already produced a music video, which features the direction I want to go musically. I am now looking to create this sort of sound for live performances. I am looking to practice frequently start gigging soon.
