A musician of instinct, Eric has a knack for writing interesting drum parts that leave the listener moved by the raw emotion in them. Although his roots are firmly placed in mainstream rock, he draws inspiration from many different musical influences. "One day I'm riffing on an aggressive sixteenth bass drum pattern..and the next a dynamic dotted eighth jazz pattern will come out of me. What type of drummer can I call myself? It's not important. It is what it is... doesn't need a label.', Raiber remarks. It is that versatility which placed him where he is today.
Music is not a new passion for Eric. Eric played in Jazz band, Concert band, Pep band, Drum line, choir, church and many amateur groups for most of his childhood. Eric joined missions as a touring drummer at the age of sixteen and went over-seas. It was the rigorous pressure of on the road playing which changed him for good."My purpose is to create and inspire. The only way I know how to do that is with a pair of sticks", Raiber exlaimed. Eric decided to dedicate his life to music based on all of his experiences.
Now back to his birthplace of Litchfield, a "whistle stop" town built along a railway extending west from Minneapolis, MN. Eric is sharing his time between enjoying nature and spending plenty of time hitting the drums.
UPDATE.....I am currently not the drummer for battlefish anymore. I am seeking new musicians to record music with and jam. I am not seeking to gig at the moment!

I play YAMAHA Drums. I own: Yamaha Live Oak custom, Yamaha regular Oak Custom, and a Maple Custom Absolute Nouveau. My current favorite setup is the Live Oak Custom. This setup consists of 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 22 inch drums. I may use different setups for different things. For snares I use a Yamaha Maple Custom Hybrid and a few others. I am looking to purchase a Yamaha Recording Custom soon for studio work. I play SABIAN Cymbals. A mix of Dave Weckl HHX Evolution and AAX. I play REMO heads. This includes a mixture of Remo Ambassador and Emperor heads depending on the situation. I am a gear head as you can tell. I swear by my brands.
