56 y.o. male guitarist/songwriter, coming out of retirement after extended break. Just want to play and record some great music. Influences
Too many influences to list, jazz, blues, classical, but mostly classic and hard rock. Imagine Pink Zeppelin, or the Rolling Beatles. The Grateful Doors meet Jimi Marley...that kinda stuff. I often tend to write things in a triple meter, bouncing back-and-forth between 6/8 and 4/4, which is a bit unusual for hard rock. Waltz music over power chords...
Members Of Band
I write, and mostly play guitars, some keys. Will try to nail some vocals, but that will take some practice. I envision one more guitar, plus bass, keys/synth and drums/percussion. If everyone can chip in on backing vox, that would be great.
EQUIPMENT
I play an acoustic, a PRS Custom 24, a Strat, a LP, and an Ibanez + Roland Guitar Synth. Leads are no problem for me, but I´m not a shredder. Think Page meets Gilmour, with a little Clapton and Townshend thrown in. I have a Mesa Boogie 1/2 stack, and a JC-120.. My effects and guitar synth can create just about any sound I´m looking for.
Will definitely need rehearsal space and a PA somewhere near Floyd VA, if we´re going to get this thing off the ground. If and when we ever play out and/or tour, we´ll also need transport and techs.
