I'm a singer, songwriter, and guitarist who is looking to join and/or start an indie pop/rock band that produces original material. I've studied guitar (including classical and jazz) for 10 years and bass (electric and upright) for 5 years. I have a working knowledge of music theory, and experience playing bass in a rock band during high school. I'm willing to play either bass or guitar depending on the skills of other band members. I'm currently working part time, teaching lessons, and taking audio recording classes, but I am willing to put a fair amount of time and energy into this band. I'd hope to start out with practicing weekly, gigging regularly in Pittsburgh (2-4 times a month), and also work on recording at least demos. Should this band start to gain attention and touring and/or producing an album becomes a possibility, I'd gladly make it a priority.

Influences
I have a lot of folk influence in my playing and writing (Paul Simon, Bob Dylan) but I'm hoping to produce a sound more similar to bands such as Hippo Campus, Peach Pit, and Whitney. My guitar playing is versatile but based in electric blues (SRV, Jimi Hendrix) and my bass playing style lends a bit from standard jazz.
