One Cent Left is the latest musical endeavor of Exit, who was the leader and "com-poseur" of the tribaltechindusludgoth band 99¢ Special ( ://99centspecial ). This project focuses on a more organic form of music, which is in contrast to the often harsh and heavily processed sound of 99.
---
At present, there is no band, as it is just myself. With 99¢ Special, I wrote and trained and/or instructed those who performed on stage. This time around, I'm open to collaboration on writing, but it isn't required.
I'm interested mostly in multi-instrumentists beyond playing at least one with high proficiency. I'm also interested in sharing the lead vocals as I know there are far better voices out there.
The cast I envision would be 6 people:
1. Myself - Vocals / Guitar / Keys (switching as needed)
2. Lead Guitar / Rhythm Guitar
3. Secondary Guitar / Violinist / Keys
4. Bass player / Keys / Samples
5. Drums / Samples (triggered by electric pads)
6. Keys
When I was performing in 99, we toured for years on weekends from Cincinnati to Providence, and Albany to Wilmington NC. We would do mini-tours on the weekends, but unlike here in Wilmington, in Central NY we had a wide variety of major cities within 1 to 5 hours drive to play.
My goal is to finish up a live set of music (all original) with a live band and then perform locally as a testing ground. Once the kinks are worked out, I would then want to push outward to other cities.
There are several Work In Progress recordings available on the website:
