I've played most recently in two bar bands in the Fargo/Moorhead/Western Minnesota area: a Southern Rock/Country outfit and a modern guitar-heavy rock cover band, as well as a funk/soul/jazz group. My own influences gear more towards the 70s classic progressive groups like Yes, Rush, early Genesis, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, and Renaissance, but I'm also listening to some of the newer stuff coming from bands like Spock's Beard, The Flower Kings, Porcupine Tree, and Transatlantic (just to name a few).
I'm open to trying new styles - to me, the most important attribute in band mates is an open mind towards trying new ideas.
