Musicians of Omaha,
If you have instrumental and/or vocal talent and dig epic, groovy, old school funk, please read on.
I'm thinking it would be fun to put together a new funk/soul/R&B band with a little bit of rock injected here and there. Basically the traditional rock band core (guitar, bass, drums) along with keyboards and probably a 3 to 4 piece horn section. Vocals optional - probably wouldn't be necessary, at least not at first. I play bass and know some guitarists and drummers. However, nothing is set in stone so if you play guitar and/or drums, I'd love to hear from you. We'll also need brass players and a good keyboardist. Please keep in mind, this would be a pure start-up. But I think, with the right people, it could come together quickly and play some good shows. I imagine we could start with funked-up versions of jazz standards and then begin to write original stuff. I have a possible rehearsal space in my basement, but it's not very big and I don't have a PA. So if you have a good place to play, even better.
Age and gender irrelevant as long as you are talented, dedicated and work well with other human beings. If, like me, you're tired of the same old music, and want to do something groovy and fun, please get in touch via email:

Tons of awesome bass gear. No PA, though.
